Bacteria Stamping

To explore the boundaries of science and art, Sugar Studio teamed up with the Microbiology department from Middlesex University London to design typefaces and patterns in a lab with professional guidance from a microbiologist.
Collaboratively we‘ve been experimenting with different bacteria cultures to print patterns and letters in a lab environment. We used laser-cut stamps out of acrylic to stamp the designs onto a petri dish, to get the amazing end result.
