Biophilic Graphic Design

Since our founding in 2022, we’ve specialised in "Biophilic Graphic Design", a unique approach where we grow artworks, graphics and typography instead of printing them, demonstrating how design can benefit both people and the planet by integrating greenery into our urban spaces.

At the core of this visionary concept lies the influence of biophilic design, an approach to designing buildings, spaces, and communities that integrates elements of nature into the built environment. It stems from the word ‘biophilia’, which means ‘love of nature’. Biophilic design aims to create spaces that connect people with nature, enhance physical and mental well-being and promote a sense of harmony and tranquility. Sugar Studio had the vision to merge biophilic design with graphic design and create a style that we call: Biophilic Graphic Design.

Our research about eco-typefaces made from living organisms places us at the forefront of revolutionising modern graphics and typography. 
Sugar Studio's projects, "Growable Graphics" and "Living Letters," are prime examples of this new style and have been featured in major exhibitions across Europe and the UK.
